About Jess

Jess Britt (she/her) is on a mission to make work better—for leaders, their teams, and those around them. She believes leaders and managers hold more influence than they realize—over their own work experience and the dynamics they create for others.

With 15+ years leading people, projects, and organizations, Jess brings a thoughtful, evidence-informed, and practical approach to coaching, facilitation, and strategic advising. She helps senior leaders and teams build habits, systems, and practices that translate high-level goals and concepts into clear, practical steps for leading intentionally and driving meaningful change.

Jess’s perspective is grounded in hands-on leadership experience. She spent a decade leading research and evaluation teams in the workforce development sector, helping organizations use research to demonstrate impact and improve programs—while navigating shifting priorities, complex dynamics, and the politics of matrixed leadership. She co-built a team as it grew from 2 to 10 people and as the organization doubled its national footprint. Internationally, she chaired the 16-member multinational board of an educational NGO serving communities in Guatemala City (budget ~$3M, endowment ~$2.5M) and managed multi-million-dollar USAID-funded Democracy and Governance programs throughout Latin America.

Like many leaders in high-growth settings, Jess found herself stretched thin. She sought coaching, read widely on leadership and workplace influence, and explored the role of work and meaning in life. She believes that when leaders gain confidence navigating organizational politics and lead with intention, work improves for everyone. Cultivating a fulfilling life outside of work is key to sustaining that impact.

She specializes in supporting leaders in periods of change or growth—such as a recent promotion, navigating organizational growth, or implementing new strategic plans—to lead and manage with greater clarity and purpose. Jess understands the challenge of running today’s business with yesterday’s systems—when your organization also needs to you build the systems of tomorrow. She’s skilled at connecting seemingly disconnected challenges and breaking them down into strategic action plans grounded in the foundational habits and systems already at work within individuals or organizations.

Jess holds a BA from Bowdoin College, a graduate certificate in Program Monitoring and Evaluation from American University, and certifications in executive and career coaching.

An alum of the Coaching for Leaders Academy, Jess serves as an inaugural Coaching for Leaders Fellow, facilitating peer momentum groups providing support and accountability for senior leaders across sectors in their leadership development in the CFL Pro Community. A native English speaker and fluent in Spanish, she works with leaders across sectors and geographies.

Jess and her husband split their time between Boston, MA, and South Burlington, Vermont. Connect with Jess on LinkedIn to learn more about her experience and click the link at right to learn more about Jess’ style ↗️
